Son of Babylon film on those still missing in Iraq

Following last month's landmark Iraqi Parliamentary screening of the powerful, highly acclaimed film “Son of Babylon ” which has initiated a parliamentary review of Iraq ’s missing person's laws there is a UK Parliamentary screening.

The film will be screened at a room in Portcullis House, Westminster (part of the House of Commons) on Tuesday 8 November. The meeting starts at 7pm prompt. Please give yourself 30 minutes to get through security.

The film lasts 80 minutes and will be followed by a panel discussion until 9pm.
It is hosted by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Kurdistan Region, the Iraqi Association, the APPG on Iraq, the Kurdistan Regional Government and Labour Friends of Iraq.

This multi-award winning film took both the Amnesty and Peace Prizes at Berlin International Film Festival alongside a British Independent Film Award and is serving as a catalyst for monumental social change in Iraq.

The panel discussion on enforced disappearances features the film’s director, Variety’s Middle Eastern film maker of the year 2010, Leeds-based Mohamed Al-Daradji and the film's producer Isabelle Stead, founder of the Iraq ’s Missing Campaign and the British Council’s Producer On The Move for 2010.
We expect the screening will be very popular and space is limited.

Please RSVP appgkurdistan(at)googlemail.com and invitations will be sent on a first come first served basis.
